"Dari 2006, setelah rumah kami dibongkar, kami mendirikan tenda di sini," kata Mulyono, Kamis (24/8/2017).
Mereka mendirikan tenda di atas tanah milik sendiri. Sudah belasan tahun mereka tidak mampu membangun rumah.
"Awalnya kami tinggal di rumah orang tua. Setelah meninggal, rumah itu dibagi sebagai warisan. Kami mendapatkan sebagian," tuturnya.
Dengan maksud membangun kembali rumah warisan itu, ada saja masalah yang menerpa keluarganya sehingga kehabisan uang.
"Rumah sudah dibongkar. Kami berniat membangunnya. Uang sudah siap, tapi ada saja masalahnya, istri saya sakit lah dan yang lain- lain," tutur Mulyono yang suaranya berubah jadi parau. Matanya pun berkaca- kaca.
Saat memasuki gubuk terpal tersebut, bermacam gerabah atau alat masak tertata di sisi- sisinya. Terdapat lemari cukup besar dengan warna yang sudah pudar.
Bak kepala yang terkulai karena tak mampu menyangga dengan baik, begitu pun lemari tersebut, posisinya miring. Pengganjal kayu pun dipasang di bawah lemari untuk membuatnya tegak.
Untuk tidur, ada tempat tidur atau dipan tanpa kasur, hanya papan kayu. Keras.
"Ini (gerabah), lemari dan dipan saya bawa dari rumah yang dibongkar itu.
Banyak rusak karena sering terkena banjir dan kecipratan air hujan," kata pria yang kesehariannya sebagai pekerja serabutan itu.
Ia menuturkan, tiap kali hujan besar, tendanya itu selalu kebanjiran.
Kedinginan saat malam? pastinya.
"Ya mau gimana lagi. Mau membangun rumah belum punya uang. Mau menjual tanah, itu cuma harta saya satu- satunya," imbuhnya.
Istri Mulyono, Jumriah, bekerja sebagai petani bawang merah di Desa Krasak, Kecamatan/ Kabupaten Brebes. Ia berangkat pagi buta dan pulang saat sang surya tenggelam di ufuk barat.
Mereka mempunyai anak satu, Yudi Teguh Baskoro (32) yang saat ini bekerja berdagang es di Jakarta.
"Anak saya pernah kena tipu, mau bekerja malah kena tipu di pelayaran. Akhirnya tidak digaji," jelas Mulyono.
Ia enggan untuk tinggal seatap dengan saudara ataupun rekannya. 'Lebih baik susah tapi terhormat daripada mudah tapi meminta- minta', dan 'lebih baik tangan di atas daripada tangan di bawah', dua prinsip hidup yang ia gunakan selama ini.
"Daripada saya meminta- minta ke saudara ataupun teman, mending saya susah seperti ini. Saya tetap berusaha sehingga bisa bangun rumah, entah itu kapan," ucap pria tamatan SMA itu.
Mulyono juga enggan memohon- mohon meminta bantuan ke pemerintah baik pemerintah desa, kecamatan, maupun kabupaten.
"Kalau ada (bantuan) ya alhamdulillah. Sebetulnya, masyarakat tidak minta pun, seharusnya pemerintah memperhatikan warganya. Seharusnya mereka tanggap," ujarnya.(*)
